AU CONTRAIRE FILM FESTIVAL
The Au Contraire International Film Festival is dedicated to promoting a more enlightened perspective through films that explore the complexities of living with mental health challenges.
By supporting school film screenings and encouraging dialogue sessions to create an immersive experience for young people, Au Contraire is bringing awareness through film - to understand real-life scenarios and promote empathy, understanding, and compassion towards those with lived experience of mental health challenges.

Matthew was one of two Keynote Speakers, along with Vanessa Mulroney, at the annual BarBQ for the Douglas Foundation, where $415,000 were raised for vital spaces in emergency care and mental health services.

for The TIDE Project at the Douglas Research Centre
Matthew combined passion and purpose to raise funds and awareness by climbing to Everest's Base Camp. His goal was to shed light and help eliminate the stigma of mental illness. His hopes that young people who need it will take their necessary first step, by seeking help and treatment when it counts most. Too many people suffer in silence ​​

Step Into Light Running Club
A team of runners to raise awareness and break the shackles of silence that too many boys suffer with if struggling in silence with mental illness. It is time for us to feel safe and empowered to seek help when needed. Together, let's work to remove the stigma surrounding mental illness.​

Matthew Turner is passionate about men's health, including mental health. That is why he embarked on a #Movember campaign in the fall of 2024 to raise funds for both men's cancer and mental health initiatives.​
